Plastic Molding Manufacturing as a finalist was profiled in the March 24 issue of Plastics News. Success Story for PMM
Plastic Molding Manufacturing's history dates back to 1968, when George Danis, a Greek immigrant who became a U.S. citizen, founded Danis Manufacturing Co. Inc. (DAMCO), a metal fabricator.
Danis, who's still CEO today, added plastics in 1982 with the addition of Plastic Molding Manufacturing Inc. in Hudson, Mass. He saw big potential in converting metal parts to plastics, using expertise in engineering and development and improvements in injection molding technology.
Thanks to an aggressive merger and acquisition strategy, Plastic Molding Mfg's plastics roots actually go back to the 1970s. Plastic Molding Mfg. acquired Res-Tech Corp. — founded in 1976 — in 2010. For a while the combined business was known as Res-Tech Plastic Molding, then it changed to PMM Co. in 2015.
Plastic Molding Manufacturing has long specialized in multimaterial and highly technical products. The company is headquartered in Hudson, Mass., and operates three additional facilities in Berlin, Conn., Lancaster, Pa., and South Bend, Ind.
Plastic Molding Manufacturing has a total of 120 injection molding machines ranging from 24 to 650 tons. Expertise includes two-shot and clean room molding, overmolding and secondary services including assembly.
Plastic Molding Manufacturing's markets include medical, industrial, automotive, electronics and defense.
